My name is Eric Luu. I’m a tax lawyer. I focus on tax dispute resolution and tax litigation. Before starting my own practice, I worked for over 6 years at the Department of Justice (Canada) in Toronto and Ottawa. While at the Department of Justice, I handled cases before the Tax Court of Canada (over 150), the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. I also advised the CRA on various tax matters.
I graduated from McGill University with degrees in Civil Law and Common Law. I have a Master of Taxation (“MTAX”) from the University of Waterloo.
I am a member of the Barreau du Québec in the capacity of Canadian Legal Advisor. I am also a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
Here are my commitments to my clients:
- I work with rigour and diligence.
- I invest myself in each file that I take on to secure the best possible outcome.
- I favour out of court settlements, but if no reasonable offer is on the table, I won’t shy away from taking the matter to trial.
Tax is sometimes only one piece of the puzzle. I work collaboratively and constructively with my clients’ other professional advisors, always putting my clients’ interests first.
My fees are reasonable, transparent and predictable. Depending on the unique circumstances and needs of my clients, I can offer flexible fee arrangements.
